Red River of the North National Water-Quality Assessment (NAWQA) StudyThe Red River of the North Basin Study-Unit was part of the U.S. Geological Survey's National Water-Quality Assessment (NAWQA) Program, and was located in Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota. The long-term goals of this program were to describe the status and trends in the quality of a large, representative part of the Nation's surface-water and ground-water resources, and to analyze data associated with the primary factors affecting the quality of these resources. The study was discontinued on September 30, 2001. Project Description - Discusses the initiatives, objectives, and approach of the REDN study. Study Unit Publications - Sorted by type of publication --fact sheets, journal articles, reports and meeting abstracts. Some of our factsheets are available in PDF (adobe acrobat) and/or HTML formats. Environmental Setting - We have brought together past and present studies of the Red River Basin to describe the general water flow and chemical constituents. |
